On 31 July 2025 in Semarang, Indonet and Alibaba Cloud, together with community partners APJII and FreeBSD, wrapped a high-energy collaboration event packed with practical conversations on how to grow services without sacrificing reliability. The spotlight was on Cloud Exchange and EPIX in action, showing how the right routes and policies turn busy hours into non-events.
Across the sessions, we kept things plain and practical. Cloud Exchange provided private on-ramps to cloud/services that cut jitter and keep latency predictable, stabilizing everything from POS to API traffic. With EPIX & peering, teams saw how short, local routes make apps feel snappy, especially during peaks. We also covered designing for peaks with multi-route connectivity, clear failover, and measurable SLAs, plus security basics that scale.
The most common questions focused on where to start, how to keep things reliable, and whether the approach scales across cities. Our guidance: put critical apps (payments, APIs) on Cloud Exchange first while routing the rest via public with peering; adopt multi-route design with automatic failover and test quarterly; and scale city-to-city by pairing local peering near each market with a consistent Cloud Exchange policy.
